Exterior: Somewhat plain. Looked like a house converted into a supper club or one part was a supper club and the other part the owners lived in.
Ambiance: Once inside, decent vibe. Leaned a little toward the sports bar upon first blush.
Menu: Extensive meat selection. As in, "Ribs with a side of bacon wrapped pork tenderloins"
Bar Selection: Full service bar. Upon ordering a brandy old fashioned, we were asked for our preferred garish. Nice touch.
Salad Bar: Their ad said "Voted best salad bar", when and by whom were not mentioned. Salad bar had ice berg lettuce with red cabbage and carrot shreds. Notable item on the bar was chicken gizzards in BBQ sauce. The gizzards were reportedly the most popular item there (see below). Plenty of cheese spreads; plenty of mayonnaise based salad dishes; no "low fat" dressing options; soup came with the salad bar, but it got poor reviews
Food Quality: Very good.
Value: Entrees were in the $15 to $20 range.
Customer Service: Waitress asked the right questions about our drink orders. Also happily answered our inquiries about unidentifiable items on the salad bar. She got our thumbs up.
Best Overheard Comment: "Oh good, they've got the gizzards."
Patrons: There was a rowdy chapter of the "red hat ladies" out on a tear. They gave the whole place a lively air.
General Pros: The food and drinks were very tasty. The waitress was likable. The paper place mats had coupons for area businesses and the local country music schedule.
General Cons: Plastic glasses and salad plates. The Manhattan was too small.
Overall Impression: Likable establishment. Scratched the Supper Club itch.
Meals Ordered: Fried Cheese Curds; Ribs with Haddock; Broasted Chicken; Ribs with Scallops; Brandy Old Fashioned; Spotted Cow; Manhattan; Bourbon Old Fashioned.
